    Anhydride is colorless orthorhombic crystal. It is easily soluble and its aqueous solution presents acid reaction (PH=4.5), insoluble in alcohol, slightly soluble in chloroform. Dihydrate is extremely easily soluble in water.

    PH of 0.1mol/L solution at 25℃ is 4.5, relative density is 1.915, melting point is 60℃.

    1. Buffer agent and softerner. In producing sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium pyrophosphate.

    2. In boiler water treatment, electroplating. leather, baking powder, fuel auxiliary, detergent, and etc. It also functions as raw material for producing sodium hexametaphosphate.
